Boston United v Posh

Chris Conn-Clarke and David Kamara both netted braces as Posh ran out 6-4 winners at Boston United.

For the crowd of just over 1,200 at the Jakemans Community Stadium, entertainment was the order of the day as Boston United and Peterborough United played out a 10-goal contest with Darren Ferguson's men eventually running out 6-4 winners.

With the game played over 120 minutes, goals always looked likely but eight came in a frenetic first hour with the second hour XI securing a 2-0 victory and more importantly, a clean sheet.

Posh were fast out of the traps and opened the scoring on six minutes as Conn-Clarke found POKU and he cut inside onto his left-foot before beating the keeper.

Two minutes later, Posh added a second as Ricky-Jade JONES raced clear 1v1 and finished coolly through the legs of the goalkeeper Gregory.

Poku was denied by Gregory on 14 minutes after good work from Ryan De Havilland, but a minute later, the hosts reduced the arrears as Mooney cut inside onto his left-foot and found the bottom corner via the inside of the post.

Two mintues later, Posh restored their two-goal cushion as Jones pulled the ball back for CONN-CLARKE to stroke his first goal for the club into the corner.

Jacob Wakeling was kept out by the legs of Gregory on 19 minutes before Boston scored again following a defensive mix-up with Weston taking advantage. On 32 minutes, the Pilgrims levlled the scores as Weston found the bottom corner on the angle.

Donay O'Brien-Brady fired wide from the edge of the box before Posh made it 4-3 as CONN-CLARKE curled a shot into the bottom corner after good work from Poku,

On 53 minutes, Boston scored the goal of the game as Green rifled home from 25-yards past Nick Bilokapic.

It was a completely new XI for the second hour of the contest and it was a quiet opening with Jed Steer keeping out Woods on 79 minutes.

On 81 minutes, Lovelace made an acrobatic stop to keep out the marauding Emmanuel Fernandez before Posh nudged ahead in the game once more as KAMARA tapped home from close-range after good work from James Dornelly.

Kamara saw a shot deflect wide of the target and Hayes drilled a shot straight at the keeper before Posh got the final goal of the game as KAMARA finished well from a Randall centre.

Boston had a late chance to reduce the arrears but Woods fired a penalty wide after a foul in the box by the trialist.
