The Posh Under 18s picked up three points on the road with an eye-catching victory at Birmingham City on Wednesday afternoon.
The Peterborough United Under 18s came from behind to secure all three points in the second city as Rylie Fitzpatrick and Patryk Sykut netted to secure a 2-1 victory over Birmingham City in Professional Development League action on Wednesday afternoon.
Jimmy Unwin's side fell behind to Tobey Ugorji's effort, with the Blues man also going close from a free-kick before the breakthrough, but Posh were undeterred by that setback and powered back to secure the three points.
UGORJI opened the scoring for the Blues on 35 minutes, arrowing a fine finish into the corner from just inside the penalty area.
However, the lead didn't last long as FITZPATRICK finished a concise Posh move two minutes later to get the scores back level.
On 54 minutes, Posh got their noses in front as SYKUT drilled a shot across the goalkeeper and into the corner. The task was made harder for Posh when they were diminished in number following a second yellow card.
Posh restricted their hosts to just half-chances despite that numerical disadvantage with only a blocked effort from Nunes-Wickham causing any moments of alarm.
Professional Development Phase (U18s) Lead Coach Jimmy Unwin said: "The boys did well, they had to dig in at times, particularly when we went down to 10-men, but I was really pleased with them.
"We scored two good goals and the performance was full of a lot of the traits that you need to be successful, it was a proper team performance.
"We even managed to get a couple of the Under 15s onto the pitch to see the game out, which is brilliant. It was a good win," Unwin said.
