Posh Women V Lincoln United

Posh Women remain undefeated in the league so far this season as they secured a comfortable 6-1 win over Lincoln United thanks to an own goal from the visitors and goals from Niamh Reynolds, Keir Perkins, Poppie Brown and a brace from substitute Tara Kirk.

Peterborough United Women claimed another three points on Sunday afternoon after they secured an emphatic 6-1 victory over Lincoln United Women at Deeping Rangers FC in the FA Women’s National League.

It was lively start from Posh with chances from Wilshaw and Reynolds, before Perkins made an cross into the six-yard box that led to The Whites’ defender VIDLER to deflect her effort into the back of the net on six minutes.

Posh doubled their lead in quick succession after Brown played a great cross-field ball over Lincoln’s defence to find Wilshaw on the edge of the box and she crossed into REYNOLDS, who fired home and claimed her first goal for the club on 12 minutes.

The visitors responded with a goal on 19 minutes with Churcher finding COPLEY with pace on the counter-attack, allowing her to slot the ball past Corry.

Perkins dragged a shot wide and James sent an effort from distance before Brown was taken down in the box, but the referee failed to award Posh a penalty.

On 25 minutes, Driscoll-King sent a ball over the top to find Brown once again and she crossed into Bale, but her shot went narrowly wide of the post.

Soon after, Wilshaw showcased some more excellent work down the left, but Hood denied her effort before the break.

Bale headed wide after good work in a wide area, before Posh added another on 59 minutes as Kirk's cross found PERKINS, who fired home at the back post to make it three for Posh.

A minute later, Kirk sent in another cross that found Perkins once again, who chested the ball down for BROWN to score her first goal of the season.

On 68 minutes, KIRK netted the fifth from a few yards out before KIRK scored another three minutes later, as she outpaced The Whites’ defender and fired into the bottom corner.

Lawlor's free-kick found Bennett at the back post before the end, but she headed it wide before a few final chances for Posh forced Hood into action before the final whistle.

Posh Women are back in Adobe Women’s FA Cup action next weekend as they welcome Tier 3 side Billericay Town Women to PIMS Park (home of Peterborough Sports FC) in the First Round Proper next Sunday afternoon (1pm).
