Ntlhe The Hero

Left-back Kgosi Ntlhe was the match-winner as Peterborough United secured a vital league win in the race for a spot in League One play-offs.

The home side opened the scoring on seven minutes and it was a bullet header from left-back Kgosi NTLHE who powered home Danny Swanson's perfect right-wing corner kick.

Ben Nugent planted a header wide of the post after excellent wing play from Danny Swanson as Posh enjoyed themselves in the opening exchanges.

Jack Payne sent a dipping volley inches past the post on 17 minutes after good hold up play from Washington.

Olejnik was called upon on 22 minutes to deny Nathan Ecclestone's left-foot drive as the Sky Blues created their first opening in front of goal.

Britt Assombalonga tested Murphy from distance on the half hour mark, the keeper up to the task of denying the top scorer.

John Fleck fired wide from 30-yards with a speculative effort moments later. Cyrus Christie glanced a header from Marshall's free-kick wide of the target before Josh McQuoid replaced Swanson, who didn't recover from a knock earlier in the half.

Ecclestone squandered a fine opportunity on 56 minutes after he was played in by Christie, but the striker fired wide of the near post. |

On 67 minutes, Josh McQuoid was denied by goalkeeper Murphy who pushed his effort from distance around the post.

Nugent cleared from the under the bootlaces of Wilson after a mix-up between the defender and Bobby Olejnik on 75 minutes as the game entered the final quarter.

Craig Alcock replaced Ben Nugent on 82 minutes as Darren Ferguson made his third switch of the afternoon.
