Peterborough United have signed highly-rated Southampton winger Lloyd Isgrove on a one-month loan deal.
Darren Ferguson has strengthened his squad ahead of Saturday's trip to Milton Keynes Dons with the signing of Southampton midfielder Lloyd Isgrove on a one-month loan deal.
The Welsh under 21 international trained with his new team-mates on Thursday and will go straight into the squad for the clash at stadium:mk.
The 21-year-old winger has been with the Saints since he was nine-years-old and made his senior debut with the club in 2012 against Leeds United.
Boss Darren Ferguson said: 'Lloyd is something a bit different. He is very quick, can play either side on the wing or in the hole if we played the diamond formation. He will beat a man both ways, he brings something different to what we have got.
'He has plenty of pace. I have looked at what we are going to need from now until the end of the season and with Danny Kearns going out on loan, I felt we needed something different to what we have already got in the squad and I am pleased to get him in the building.'
Isgrove came through the youth ranks at St. Mary's alongside Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Luke Shaw among others. He admits he is looking forward to the chance of playing first team football.
'This is my first loan spell away from Southampton so it is a big move for me. I have been with Southampton since I was 9-years-old. I am really looking forward to the challenge. I know I need to work hard in training to try and impress the management.
'I have come here to play games. I am here to the end of the season a nd hopefully I can contribute. The club are fighting for promotion and have a Wembley date to look forward to, it would be great to be a part of that,' Isgrove said.
