Late Burgess Winner Earns Posh Win
Peterborough United secured their spot in round two of the FA Cup with a late winner from Christian Burgess netting a winner a minute into stoppage time to send Darren Ferguson's men into the hat.On eight minutes, Posh fell behind and it was a terrible goal for Darren Ferguson's men to concede. Posh appealed in vain for a spot-kick on 14 minutes as Taylor's cross appeared to strike the arm of Robson, but nothing was given. Vassell then hooked a shot wide of the near post from another Taylor delivery.

A deflected free-kick from Grainger was tipped over by Alnwick as the first half moved into stoppage time. Alnwick made another excellent stop to deny Robson moments after the re-start after he had beaten Smith in the build-up.
A jinking run from Taylor saw him make his way into the penalty box on 53 minutes, but his shot went into the side-netting. Mendez-Laing was denied by Hanford by his near post before Robson whistled a cross-shot across the six-yard box.
Posh made a change on 65 minutes with Erhun Oztumer replacing Mendez-Laing. Bostwick fired wide on 71 minutes after a patient Posh build-up.
