Posh play hosts to top-half Scunthorpe United at the ABAX Stadium on Saturday.
Peterborough United welcome the visit of Graham Alexander’s Scunthorpe United on Saturday (3pm), who are one of a number of late season play-off contenders in Sky Bet League One.
Since Alexander took over from Mark Robins in March, the Iron have been in impressive form having lost only one of the last six league games, seeing the men from Glanford Park lie four points outside the top six.
The Lincolnshire outfit have won three from four this month, the sole defeat coming to fellow promotion hopefuls Bradford City.
Posh head into the game looking to bounce back from a narrow stoppage-time defeat to play-off chasing Barnsley on Tuesday evening. Chris Forrester will be missing due to suspension, with Michael Bostwick not being risked after collecting his 14th booking against the Tykes.
Long-term absentees Jermaine Anderson, Jordan Nicholson, Joe Gormley and Tom Nichols will not feature due to injury, but Michael Smith could return after not playing in the game at Oakwell since suffering a slight injury. Jon Taylor could be a doubt while goalkeeper Ben Alnwick is likely to miss out with injury with Mark Tyler set to start between the sticks.
Westley said: “It’s time we look at one or two for sure. Obviously Forrester is going to be suspended and Bostwick collected his 14th booking of the season on Tuesday night, so we’ve got to be box-clever with how we handle his situation. If we were desperate for the results, we’d have to take chances that perhaps we won’t take, but we can start to look at others now.
“Mark Tyler will start at the weekend. It is a good chance to him to play with Ben nursing an injury and for the fans to welcome him back. I spoke to him earlier in the week and I know he is looking forward to it,” Westley said.
Scunthorpe are likely to name an unchanged side following the 2-1 victory over Bury, with goalkeeper Luke Daniels in for Joe Anyon and striker Kyle Wootton to keep his spot ahead of Tom Hopper.
In the reverse fixture in November, Posh came away as 4-0 winners, with the Iron then managed by Robins. Former striker Conor Washington netted a hat-trick with Michael Bostwick converting from the penalty spot.
