Skipper Chris Forrester looking forward to the trip to Milton Keynes Dons.

It will be the first time that he has faced Milton Keynes Dons, but Peterborough United skipper Chris Forrester is well aware of the rivalry between the two clubs ahead of Saturday's meeting at stadium mk in Sky Bet League One (3pm).

The Irishman has seen comments on social media and boss Grant McCann re-emphasised the importance of the clash in meetings this week at the Mick George Training Academy.

"It is a massive game for us and the supporters," Forrester said. "I have seen some of the comments on Twitter in the build-up to the game and I know what it means to the supporters. The manager has told us that we need to be focussed because we know they are a decent side, they were in the Championship last year and have kept a lot of their squad together.

"I am looking forward to leading the team out, if selected, it should be a good atmosphere and hopefully we can get the three points that we are after," Forrester said.

Posh have taken six points from the first four league matches and chalked up one win and one defeat in the EFL Cup to date. Forrester describes the opening few weeks as 'up and down', but is confident the squad can find the consistency required to be successful.

"It has been a bit up and down if we are honest. The defeat to Swansea the other night was hard to take. I thought we did well in the second half, but in the first half we didn't show up. Hopefully we can get on a bit of a steady run now and get a few wins under our belt.

"Consistency is massive. We have proven that we can beat teams at this level, look at what we did to Millwall, but we need to do that week in, week out and that has been our problem. We are trying to address the problem. If we can get that right we will be okay," Forrester added.
