Posh will face Swansea City in the second round of the EFL Cup.
Peterborough United will face Premier League side Swansea City in the second round of the EFL Cup after the draw was made following Luton Town's victory over Aston Villa at Kenilworth Road.
Posh made it into the second round after a hard fought 3-2 victory over AFC Wimbledon at the ABAX Stadium on Tuesday night with substitute Tom Nichols firing a second half brace.
Full details of the tie will be confirmed in the coming days but the game will take place in week commencing 21st August.
Manager Grant McCann said: "It will be a night match at the ABAX Stadium against Premier League opposition, so everyone is looking forward to it. It will be good to test ourselves against an established Premier League side.
"I am sure that Gwion Edwards and Andrew Hughes will be happy about the opposition," McCann said. Edwards played for the Swans prior to signing for Crawley Town while Hughes was born in Cardiff.
