Posh have completed the signing of Crawley star Gwion Edwards.
Peterborough United are delighted to announce the signing of Crawley Town attacking midfielder Gwion Edwards for an undisclosed fee.
The 23-year-old has penned a three-year contract at the ABAX Stadium. The Welsh international will fly out to Portugal to link-up with his new team-mates.
Grant McCann said: "We have been tracking Gwion for quite a while now and I am delighted that we have been able to get it done. He is a clever footballer, he has had two good years with Crawley, especially last year.
"He will suit the way we play, he can play anywhere across the midfield and attacking areas of the pitch. He is a special talent and I am confident we can make him better in the future.
"He is a clever, he is very direct, he runs at people with the ball, has scored a lot of goals in the last few years and I am sure he will excite the fans. He had interest from Celtic and Rangers so I am delighted to have him on board, he demonstrated great commitment to come and join us at Peterborough" McCann said.
Edwards joined Swansea City as an under 15 and has been a stand out performer for the Reds, scoring 15 goals for the club.
Edwards said: "I have obviously played against Peterborough home and away and I know exactly how they play football and that suits my style. I have spoken to the manager and I am really happy to be here.
"It has happened very quickly. It was a long drive to get here to get the paperwork signed but it is all done now and I can look forward to Portugal and meeting the rest of the players," Edwards said.
