Posh secure the loan signing of experienced midfielder Simon Gillett.
Peterborough United have moved to bolster the experience in the squad by completing the short term loan signing of midfielder Simon Gillett.
The 30-year-old has played for Nottingham Forest, Blackpool and Bristol City in his career and goes straight into the Posh squad for the clash at the DW Stadium against Wigan Athletic after agreeing the move from Yeovil Town.
Manager Graham Westley said: "Gilly is a fantastic and experienced professional with a Championship level background. Exactly what we need to spread some learning and know-how into our young players.
"He has qualities that we have been lacking and our youngsters will benefit immensly from his presence. Injecting a bit of fresh leadership is important at certain times and this is the ideal time for us.
"That much was evident on the training ground on Friday where his desired effect was immediate."
Westley went on to say that he has full confidence in his squad to overcome its recent poor run. "We have lost a lot of front line players. Too many. The lads coming in to replace them have either been returning from long term injury or playing their first League One football. It has shown.
"You simply cannot carry the amount of players that we have been fielding with those kind of issues. But we have stuck together, gained in strength and we are working through it. We have the support of outstanding leaders in Barry Fry and the Chairman who understand the issues and are doing all possible to support, push and help.
"Their is a special unity at this club which is why the lads love being here," said Westley, who was evidently looking forward to the clash against Wigan.
Gillett will wear the number 17 shirt at the ABAX Stadium.
