An inswinging cross from Maddison was met by Nichols on 72 minutes but the former Exeter man guided his header wide of the target. Taylor headed another fine Maddison centre over the bar before he was withdrawn with Samuelsen his replacement.
Posh were reduced to 10-men moments later with Almeida Santos sent off for a second yellow card for hauling down Lowe. From the resulting set-piece, Bury made it 3-1 as TUTTE fired over the wall and past Moore by his near post.
Bury introduced Tom Pope for Lowe on 80 minutes. Callum Chettle was introduced for his debut, replacing Da Silva Lopes. Clarke fired wide of the near post in stoppage time.
