Michael Smith has been named in the Northern Ireland squad.
Peterborough United full-back Michael Smith has been named in the Northern Ireland squad for forthcoming friendly fixtures with Wales and Slovenia.
It is the first time that Smith has been called into the senior squad and with the European Championships just around the corner, it is a great opportunity for the 27-year-old.
Smith told theposh.com: "I am delighted to have been called up to the senior squad for the first time, it is what you dream of as a young lad.
"I am looking forward to meeting with the squad and it is up to me to impress the management in training and hopefully earn my first cap."
Smith will miss the Good Friday fixture with Coventry City due to his involvement in the squad.
