On-loan full-back is named in England under 20 squad.
Peterborough United defender Harry Toffolo has been named in the England under 20 squad for the forthcoming game at Doncaster’s Keepmoat Stadium on Easter Sunday (27 March, kick off 4pm).
Canada U20s are the opposition heading to the Keepmoat, as the Young Lions aim to continue their recent run of good form on home soil.
Toffolo is on-loan from Premier League side Norwich City and started in the 3-2 defeat to Port Vale at the weekend.
The game is the first match in permanent charge for Downing, who had previously been in temporary charge of the team and has already enjoyed wins against the Czech Republic, Holland and Turkey.
Toffolo will miss the Good Friday meeting with Coventry City. Kgosi Ntlhe and Michael Smith will also definitely miss that fixture while Gabi Zakuani and Chris Forrester have both been named in provisional squads and could be away.
Coventry striker Adam Armstrong has been named in the England under 19 squad and will miss the game alongside James Maddison (England under 20s) and Jack Stephens (England under 21s).
