Fancy watching Posh in comfort and help Peterborough Cancer Ward at the same time?
Head of Media & Ticketing Chris Brewer has a personal story which here at Peterborough United would be delighted if you could get involved in to help a good cause."My dad Steve, who is also a former employee at Posh, has been battling Bowel Cancer since March 2014 and after two successful operations at Peterborough City Hospital, the cancer has returned and is now inoperable. He's now in the care of the superb Oncology ward at the hospital where they are treating him with Chemotherapy.
"While he was having his treatment (which takes over four hours per session), he noticed that there were two types of Chemo pumps. A single pump and a triple pump and after talking to the nurses they said that the triple pumps were much more effiecient in treating the patients. They only have ten triple pumps in a 26-bay day ward so they need 16 more to be fully equipped.
"The only problem is they cost the Trust £3,400 each and there is simply not enough funds for 16 more units. He decided that even if he can raise enough money for one unit, it will be used twice a day (am & pm) five days a week, so it can treat over 500 cancer patients a year which will save each patient between 30-45 minutes per session.
"Posh Director Alf Hand has kindly donated his Executive Box for the Scunthorpe United match on Tuesday 22nd November (7.45pm) to help raise funds so if you would like to watch Posh from the comfort of the box while raising money for the Oncology Department then please contact the Posh Ticket Office on 01733 865674 (option 2) or in person at the ticket office. Tickets cost a minimum donation of £30. Thanks for your support."
Tickets will include a buffet, hot drinks, biscuits and inside/outside seating. There is also a pay bar and TV facilites.
