Posh held to a 2-2 draw by Swindon Town.
Peterborough United and Swindon Town shared four goals at the ABAX Stadium as the Sky TV cameras witnessed a 2-2 draw between two sides who delivered a decent spectacle of possession based football.Posh twice led through a Gwion Edwards header and a Marcus Maddison penalty, however, the Robins fought back with a penalty from Michael Doughty and an unfortunate own goal by Jack Baldwin.
Tom Nichols fired wide on six minutes after quick feet from Paul Taylor in a tight area just outside the penalty box as Posh tried to assert themselves early into the fixture.
John Goddard tested Tyler with a curling effort on 13 minutes, but it was routine for the Posh shot-stopper, making his 800th career appearance between the sticks.
The deadlock was broken on 36 minutes as an inswinging free-kick from Maddison was met by EDWARDS who powered home a header via the underside of the crossbar.
The goalscorer was booked on 43 minutes after a bit of a wild lunge on this near touchline. Goddard fired wide of the far post as the first half moved into stoppage time as the Robins came desperately close to a leveller.
Taylor saw a shot well blocked by Thompson after an excellent run and cross from Edwards down the left. On 50 minutes, the Robins drew themselves level from the penalty spot as DOUGHTY fired low into the corner after Bostwick had handled Goddard's effort.
Nichols saw a deflected shot well gathered by Vigouroux at the other end as Posh tried to respond immediately to the setback of being pegged back.
Posh handed a debut to George Moncur on 58 minutes, the Barnsley loanee replacing the goalscorer Edwards. On 63 minutes, Posh got themselves back in front as Murray upended Forrester in the box and MADDISON coolly dispatched te spot-kick.
The visitors introduced Luke Norris for Goddard in Luke Williams' second change of the afternoon as the rain continued to fall at the ABAX Stadium.
Swindon levelled the scores on 76 minutes as a left-wing centre was diverted past Tyler by BALDWIN who was on the stretch in the slick conditions.
Posh introduced Tottenham loanee Nathan Oduwa to replace Nichols immediately after the goal. Anderson saw a low drive pushed around the post by the keeper moments later.
