Striker Josh Davison netted a second half equaliser as Posh earn point at Portsmouth.
The Peterborough United under 18s came away from the long trip to Portsmouth with a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Jack Collison's men coming from behind to secure a share of the spoils to continue their excellent start to the Merit League.
Striker Josh Davison netted the equaliser in the second half after Posh had fallen behind, but the youngsters could have earned all three points, a free-kick clipping the top of the crossbar in the final stages.
Collison was pleased with the players' character and determination not to be beaten. "Portsmouth are a strong side and it was a good test for the boys. Pompey still have a lot of their second years in and around their squad and as you can tell from our line-up, we had a lot of under 16s involved.
"It was an experienced team we fielded, but it was great for them to come up against older lads and they showed great character to come from behind to earn a point. That has pleased me over the last few weeks, we came from behind against MK, scored late against Bournemouth and Yeovil and they never know when they are beaten.
"I was buzzing for Josh to get the goal, he has been working hard on the training ground and actually scored with his weaker left-foot, which he has been improving in training so it is great when it is transferred to a game situation.
"On Saturday, we face AFC Wimbledon, which will be a tricky game. They beat us quite comfortably earlier in the campaign so it will be a test for the boys to see how far they have come. The under 16s have played a lot of football at under 18 level and that can only aid their development."
