Posh 'A' withstand late Norwich fightback to secure victory.
This game was full of attacking intent from both sides with Peterborough just edging it. Posh showed good intent from the first whistle and they were quickly ahead when a Mucklin corner was flicked into the near post and Gray flicked it into the bottom corner.
They then doubled their lead when Powell fizzed a pass to the far post and Mucklin tapped home at the far post. Then two quick fire goals made it three and four nil. First, Jaquite fizzed a ball to the back post for Kielty to prod into the net and then another pass across goal from Jaquite and another tap in for Kielty.
Then Norwich got a foothold in the game as a loose ball gave it away to the Norwich winger to finish calmly. Shortly after, Norwich put more pressure on and grabbed a second when a deflected shot fell to the Norwich player to score. Then Norwich closed the gap to one goal, a low shot creeping into the corner of the net.
Peterborough then regained a two goal deficit when Gray won the ball of a Norwich player and he ran down the line and finished into the bottom corner. Norwich then regrouped and pulled another goal back. Peterborough finished the half strongest as they made it six when Nassunculo had an open net and rolled it home. Right on the stroke of half time a Kielty free kick picked out Mucklin who finished acrobatically to make it 7-4 at half time.
In the second half, Nassunculo finished well from a one on one situation. Peterborough were then having to defend as Norwich pressed and attacked hard and pulled a goal back when the Peterborough front two split and the Norwich player powered the ball into the net. Then two quick-fire Norwich goals got them back in contention. Despite seven goals going against them Peterborough defended valiantly to preserve the win and take the points.
