Reserves enjoy Central League Cup success at Barnet.
The Peterborough United reserve team secured a Central League Cup success on Tuesday afternoon following an entertaining 4-3 success at Barnet with Danny Lloyd among the scorers with Posh finishing with 10-men following the late dismissal of young centre back Sam Cartwright for a second booking.
It was midfielder Chris Forrester who opened the scoring for Posh before the Bees equalised and then took the lead before the half-way point in the first period. Young midfielder Kyle Barker drew Posh level with a well-taken effort before Idris Kanu converted from the spot after he himself had been felled in the box.
After the break, the goals and chances continued to flow with Lloyd converting a second penalty kick after he had been upended in the box. Barnet reduced the arrears on 70 minutes with Cartwright given his marching orders for conceding the free-kick.
Young goalkeeper Conor O’Malley made a string of impressive saves to keep Posh in front while there were opportunities for Kanu and Forrester at the other end.
