Winger Marcus Maddison surprises Posh fan by presenting special award at New College Stamford.
Skills for Work and Living student from New College Stamford, Benjamin Parrish, has been busy at Peterborough United Football Club undertaking a three-week long work experience placement as part of the Grounds Team and after a hugely successful spell, was presented with a special award at a presentation evening on Thursday night.
Starting his placement as a shy 23 year old that lacked in confidence around others, Ben ended his three weeks with the ability to believe in himself, making work related decisions and gained confidence to ask questions when needed. Ben, who is a huge Posh fan, won an ‘Outstanding Achievement’ award for his Work Experience and there was a surprise guest at the ceremony.
Rob Bradshaw, the Mick George Training Academy Head Groundsman said: “I am very proud of what Benjamin has achieved over the past three weeks, this is down to the dedication and enthusiasm shown within himself which has led to excellent results in his ability.”
“We have a confident bright young candidate that will grow stronger and stronger over the coming years. Ben is a big Posh fan and his favourite player is Marcus Maddison so we arranged for Marcus to come along to the awards night and present him with his award. He was so excited to see Marcus and he got a wonderful ovation.”
