Elite Football Scholarship in partnership with St. Neots Football Club has been launched.
We are delighted to announce the next open day for our Elite Football Scholarship, run in partnership with St Neots Town FC. Peterborough United coaching staff will now take lead of our Elite Football Scholarship / U18 Youth Team Squad from the start of the 2018/19 season.
Academy Manager, Nick Sheppard said: “We are delighted to be working closely with St Neots Town FC from the 2018/2019 season. We know the people really well at St Neots and hope that our link will be mutually beneficial to both clubs. The Elite Football Scholarship is one of the best set ups outside of the EFL Academies and so with our coaches working on the programme it will enable us to have the best opportunities to find any players who are late developers.”
Director of Football at St Neots Town FC, Iain Parr spoke regarding the agreement: “I am excited to announce our partnership with Peterborough United Football Club to help develop and educate 16-19 year old footballers within a full time football and education programme. This is an excellent opportunity for both clubs to help talented footballers achieve their goals on the football pitch whilst gaining valuable life skills and qualifications.”
The programme offers the opportunity to have fulltime football training alongside academic studies within an integrated timetable for Year 12 & 13s. Unlike most football scholarships there is the option to study a variety of courses at St Neots Sixth Form alongside your football; this includes A-Levels which are now in strategic blocks to avoid clashes or the traditional BTEC sports courses.
