Godden will wear his heart on his sleeve as he tries to help Posh achieve his goals.
Peterborough United front man Matt Godden believes his work ethic will be a good starting point as preparations continue for the opening Sky Bet League One fixture with Bristol Rovers at the ABAX Stadium on Saturday 4th August.
The former Stevenage man was answering questions from supporters during an interactive Facebook Live session on Monday evening when he was quizzed on how he would win over the club’s supporters.
“I work so hard on the pitch, I wear my heart on my sleeve and I will never ever give up. I don’t believe in lost causes. I am here to score goals, I want to try and better my tally from last season and if I can do that then I will be happy. I am learning all the time in training, I try to take something from every player that I play with.
“It has been really enjoyable so far in Portugal. I have had a lot of chats with Jack Marriott. Our paths have been fairly similar in terms of our careers and if I can replicate even half of what he achieved last season then I will be pleased. This a good group of lads, they are all determined to succeed and we are all looking forward to the season starting.
“I haven’t come here to mess about, I am here because I want to get promoted. The management are exactly the same. This league is competitive and there are some good teams, but I believe we are a good team. I am looking forward to making my debut,” Godden said.
Leeds United loanee Tyler Denton will be answering questions from the supporters on Tuesday evening from 8pm on Facebook Live.
