Posh Women in FA Cup action this weekend with a long trip to Dronfield Town Ladies.
Peterborough United Women begin their FA Cup journey on Sunday (2pm) as they travel to the HE Barnes Stadium to face Dronfield Town Ladies FC in the third qualifying round.
Chloe Brown’s side are just one-step away from reaching the FA Cup first round proper for first-time in the club’s history and head into the fixture on the back of an emphatic victory in the Northants County Cup last weekend.
Dronfield Town Ladies FC have already had to overcome Barnsley Ladies FC and Grimsby Town Ladies FC in the opening two qualifying rounds of the competition but have yet to pick up a win in their respective league after three games.
Team News
No new injury concerns for Posh ahead of their trip to Dronfield Town, with Piper O’Neill, Hollie Lewis, and Beatriz Borque remain side-lined. Lewis and Borque are looking a bit more hopeful but are still a couple of weeks away from making a full return to the squad.
Megan Parrett grabbed her first goals of the season in the last two games while Cassie Steward notched seven goals in the victory over Netherton Ladies & Girls development, with hope of maintaining that goalscoring freedom on Sunday.
From the Gaffer
“Our biggest focus at the minute is maintaining that positive morale from the past week while keeping standards really high in our performances. We can’t just go to Dronfield Town and underestimate them this weekend, just look at who they have knocked out already in this competition. So, we have to go in perform at our best and keep the standards high regardless of who we are playing.”
