Summer signing Kwame Poku netted twice as the Posh under 23s eased to a 4-0 win over Watford.
Posh opened the scoring inside the opening 10 minutes on a sweltering day at the Weston Homes Stadium, an excellent pass from Aaron Powell sent Idris Kanu in the clear, he took his time and picked out Kwame POKU who swept home from close-range with his left-foot.
Poku was close to a second on 10 minutes after a swift Posh break down the left with Joel Randall at the heart of it, the former Colchester United man seeing his effort deflect wide for a corner kick. Adam Parkes in the Hornets goal had to be alert to prevent Morris from putting through his own net after a low Powell cross moments later as Posh continued to dominate.
Posh doubled the lead on 35 minutes and what a goal it was too; POKU cutting inside and firing a stunning effort with his left-foot into the top corner from 25-yards leaving keeper Parkes with no chance.
Joel Randall had the ball in the back of the net again on 39 minutes but this time the assistant referee had the flag raised and the goal was chalked off for offside. It was 3-0 moments later though, three minutes before the break to be exact, RANDALL racing onto a clever pass before producing a composed finish past the keeper.
Luke Harris timed a run into the box to perfection moments after the re-start, but he couldn’t guide a cross from Powell towards goal. Posh made it 4-0 midway through the second half as a clipped free-kick from Kyle Barker was met by Emmanuel FERNANDEZ at the back post and his header squeezed past keeper Parkes.
