Posh Women Reserves make ideal start to league campaign with 4-0 victory.
The Peterborough United Women Reserves made the perfect start to their league campaign on Wednesday evening with a 4-0 victory and midfielder Milly Ramm believes the hard work undertaken during pre-season was key to their opening day success.
Goals from Zoe Devonport, Amy Gore, Destiny Makanjuola and Aliyah Palmer secured all three points against Loughborough Foxes Vixens at the idverde Training Ground with Ramm excellent throughout.
“We have worked really hard during pre-season, training on a Wednesday and a Friday in preparation for the start of the new campaign, so to win on the opening day 4-0 was a great start for us. I think it was a well-deserved win too.
“In pre-season, you can suffer defeats during pre-season, but we all stuck together and I think we got our rewards. Clearly our shooting practice paid off! I enjoyed it, I try to use my pace as much as I can, I just need to be a bit more confident in one v one situations, but I am sure that will come,” Ramm said.
Manager Wayne Hinds was pleased with his team’s display. “It was a great start for us. In the first 25 minutes we looked good and in the second half we got the job done. It is a new group, they are learning about each other, but to put in a performance that yielded a 4-0 win is impressive.”
