The football club have already conducted a number of visits to Primary Schools.

The Peterborough United Schools Initiative is back for the 2021-2022 campaign with former player Bobby Copping conducting assemblies in Primary Schools across the area alongside hugely popular mascot Peter Burrow.

Copping is also putting on a free coaching session for pupils and conducting a question-and-answer session at the visit with free tickets distributed for a number of games across the Sky Bet Championship campaign.

So far, the duo have visited St. Johns Primary School in Stanground, the Quadring Primary School in Lincolnshire, Kingsfield Primary School in Chatteris and Morton Church of England Primary School with a host of others already scheduled in including Moulton Chapel Primary School, Billingborough Primary School and Benwick Primary School.

Copping said: “It has obviously been a challenging time over the last 18 months, but it is fantastic that we are now in a position to re-start this initiative with the co-operation of the schools across the area. Peter has been raring to go, and he has understandably proved a popular visitor at the schools we have already been into.

“It was vitally important as a football club that we continued to engage with our potential young supporters and providing an opportunity to come and watch the team play was a vital part in that, but what we also wanted to ensure was that we had a presence within the community and Peter’s popularity is there for all to see.

“We have added a couple of new things to the package with coaching sessions and a question and answer session available to the school and we are also looking to host ground tours at the stadium too. I have sent out a lot of emails to schools with what we can offer, but feel free to email me at bobby.copping@theposh.com if you wish to get an assembly booked in.”

The assembly features a short DVD, a message from a Posh star and plenty of fun involving Peter Burrow. The club work with the schools on Covid-19 protocol and can tailor the assembly to meet the needs of the venue.
