The fixtures for the upcoming 2024/25 Sky Bet League One season have been released with Posh starting the season here at the Weston Homes Stadium on Saturday 10th August with a fixture against Huddersfield Town, who finished the last campaign 23rd in the Sky Bet Championship.
This is followed up with back-to-back away trips to Shrewsbury Town and Exeter City before welcoming newly promoted Wrexham to PE2. It will be the first time the two sides will have met competitively since 2008. On that occasion two goals from Jamie Day saw Posh victorious at the Racehorse Ground in a League Two clash.
The first Cambridgeshire Derby of the season takes place here in PE2 with Cambridge United visiting on Saturday 9th November. Posh will be looking for a repeat of last year’s memorable 5-0 victory, whilst the return game at the Cledara Abbey Stadium will be on Saturday 15th March. This season the first Nene Derby will take place at Sixfields Stadium with a fixture on Saturday 7th December, the return match will be on Saturday 5th April.
The busy festive period includes back-to-back home games over Christmas again this season with fixtures against Mansfield Town on Boxing Day and Barnsley visiting the Weston Homes Stadium on Sunday 29th December.
We finish our home campaign against Bolton Wanderers, in a repeat of our last home game of the season in 2023/24. However, the season will finish slightly later this year with the campaign concluding with an away fixture against Rotherham United at the AESSEAL New York Stadium on Saturday 3rd May.
