Players, parents and staff within the Academy helped to provide over 700 meals for the local Food Bank.
Over the last month or so, players, parents and staff within the Academy have been donating food in preparation for a visit to the local Food Bank ahead of Christmas and earlier this week, a number of the under 18s and management staff delivered the items to The Trussell Trust Peterborough Food Bank on Fengate.
They were informed that their collections would help provide over 700 meals and Academy manager Dan Robinson expressed his gratitude to everyone that has been involved in the project.
“I want to say a big thank you to all of our Academy players from the under 9s right through to the under 21s who have contributed to this effort. I also want to thank all of the parents and our wonderful staff who have helped make this such a worthwhile project. It is so important that we recognise our position within the Community and this is a good example of something that will have an enormous impact on the people of this city.”
Meanwhile, nine of the club’s under 21 squad visited the Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice ahead of Christmas to see first-hand the tremendous care that is provided by the wonderful staff. The players helped support the festivities and spent time looking around the facility on Thorpe Road.
