Bake sale to be hosted by Posh Academy throughout October for Cancer Research UK.
As part of Stand Up To Cancer, Peterborough United Academy took part in a bake sale on Sunday (8th October) to raise money for Cancer Research UK and will continue to host them throughout October.
A stall was set up at the idverde Training Ground, in the canteen, where schoolboy academy players and staff brought in cakes to sell to opposition players and parents, where a brilliant £120.85 has been raised so far.
The academy will take part in a number of events throughout the month to raise funds for Cancer Research, including setting up a donation station at the training ground where players and staff can donate any old sportswear and football boots, which will be available until the end of the month.
Academy Operations Manager, Alicia Rangolam, said: “Sunday was a great first step in our Stand Up to Cancer Month charity bake sales. Thank you to all who provided treats and bought refreshments to enjoy whilst watching the schoolboy fixtures.
“We, at Peterborough United, greatly appreciate your donation, and your support helps to further Cancer Research UK’s vision to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Your support is invaluable to Cancer Research UK who are dedicated to saving lives through research.”
The bake sale will continue to happen on every Sunday at the idverde Training Ground, with the next one planned on Sunday 15th October in The Hub.
