The club can confirm the signing of striker Pemi Aderoju on an 18-month contract from Biggleswade.
Peterborough United are pleased to announce the signing of striker Pemi Aderoju on an 18-month contract from Biggleswade with the front man completing the formalities at the iverde Training Ground on Friday after a spell at the club as a trialist.
The 19-year-old spent time at Kempston Rovers before joining Biggleswade where he enjoyed an excellent start to the campaign. He will go into the clubs under 21 squad where he has been featuring for several months.
Academy manager Dan Robinson said: “He is a fantastic character, comes from a lovely family background, scored a lot of goals for Biggleswade and we are excited about his potential, just like all the other players in that 21s group.
“We feel he can progress in the programme that we have here. He is going to hit the ground running, rather than coming in gold. He has been with us for a period already so that can only benefit him. He has a programme with a wrap around, which covers everything from his on-field performance to his development off the pitch. We are looking forward to watching him and helping develop over the second half of the season.”
Aderoju, who was joined at the club by his family for the formalities, is excited about finally being a Posh player after a spell at the club as a trialist and is looking forward to learning from the coaches at the football club.
“It has been a really good experience so far, training day in, day out, learning from the brilliant coaches that we have here and now everything is completed, I can really look forward to trying to make a strong impression in the second half of the season.
“I really enjoyed my time at Biggleswade, I had a good start to the campaign and they have really helped me with my development. Obviously without them, this move wouldn’t have happened so I owe them a lot and now it is about repaying that trust and faith that Barry Fry and the management have here at Peterborough.”
