The Posh Under 21s scored twice in the opening few minutes to defeat Ipswich Town in the Professional Development League.
The Peterborough United under 21s secured an eye-catching victory over Ipswich Town at the idverde Training Ground with striker Pemi Aderoju netting twice inside the opening five minutes to condemn the Tractor Boys to defeat.
The Professional Development League fixture exploded into life inside the opening 60 seconds as excellent pressing from the front produced a defensive error and Aderoju was upended in the box.
ADEROJU stepped up and fired his spot-kick into the bottom corner to give Posh the lead. Two minutes later and Posh were two goals to the good as a right-wing centre was diverted past the keeper from close-range by ADEROJU.
Jacob Wakeling, making his first appearance after an injury lay-off, fired wide with a left-foot volley on nine minutes before Donay O'Brien-Brady fired wide after a strong run.
On 13 minutes, Posh had another great chance to find the back of the net as a clever dummy from Aderoju sent O'Brien-Brady in the clear, he left the defender on the floor with a clever body-swerve, but fired his shot straight at the legs of Binns.
Fynn Talley made his first save on the quarter-hour mark after a low shot before the keeper tipped a free-kick from Roberts onto the bar with the resulting effort ruled out for offside.
Tommy Taylor fired wide just before the break for the Tractor Boys and moments later Posh were close to a third as the trialist saw a fierce drive spilled by Binns.
On 73 minutes, the visitors pulled a goal back as substitute OKUNOWO provided a classy finish to halve the deficit. Kawa headed over from a corner kick before the visitors produced a number of quick-fire chances with Taylor firing over before being denied by Talley.
Lead Under 21 Coach Ryan Semple said: "I am pleased because we got a lot right today. We made a good start, just like we did against Crewe, but this time we got the second quickly after and the only criticism is that we didn't score more goals in that spell.
"The lads did well to see the game out and that is important because they need to understand that three points are important at this level. It isn't just about development, we want to win games."
