New University to be sleeve sponsor of Posh Women.
Peterborough United Women are delighted to confirm ARU Peterborough as their official sleeve sponsor for the 2022/23 season.
Professor Ross Renton, ARU Peterborough Principal, has highlighted the enormous success of the Lionesses over the summer and hopes the partnership with the Posh Women can help encourage more students to get involved in the women’s game.
Professor Ross Renton said, “Women’s football is enjoying unprecedented support right now following the Lionesses’ European Championship success and we are delighted to support the city’s football clubs. Exercise plays an important role in positive mental health and wellbeing, and anything we can do to encourage that is welcome.
“And who knows, amongst our first group of students and staff there may well be some promising footballers of the future as well as people who will want to participate in the other sports and fitness activities on offer in the city.”
Posh Women General Manager Bobby Copping said, “We are delighted to have ARU Peterborough on board as our sleeve sponsor for the 22/23 season. The new university is an exciting development for the city and we’re hopeful that the recent success of the England Women’s football team will encourage some of the new students to come down, support the team and get involved with the club.”
ARU Peterborough is a partnership between Anglia Ruskin University, the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority, and Peterborough City Council.
ARU Peterborough will open in September offering a wide range of courses from Business and Management, to Cybersecurity, to Engineering as well as a range of Degree Apprenticeships.
Places are still available to study at ARU Peterborough in September. In addition, a significant number of courses begin in January 2023. For more information, visit aru.ac.uk/Peterborough
