Lloyd-Bannerman

Peterborough United Women are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Macey Bannerman-Lloyd from Tottenham Hotspur U21s, ahead of the 2024/25 FA Women’s National League Division One Midlands campaign.

The 18-year-old has spent time within the Tottenham Hotspur Academy over the last three seasons, having also been part of the Arsenal U12s. Bannerman-Lloyd boasts international experience as she represented England at U15s level.

Bannerman-Lloyd is looking forward to the new challenge ahead: "It’s a really good opportunity to be a part of a different environment. I’ve loved every bit of my journey so far despite picking up an injury but I can’t wait to get involved in a new experience now. I would describe myself as a maverick – I can play on either wing or in the middle, and like to run all over. Posh is a good place to be; it feels like a family here, all the players are very warm."

The teenager will also be spreading her football career this season alongside the University of Nottingham where she will be starting her studies.

"I’m excited to join up in pre-season and meet the whole team. I can’t wait to get started playing football and learning everyone’s dynamics."

Manager Jake Poole said: "Macey’s a young player who comes with real high regard. She brings professional quality from her time at Spurs in the Pro Game Academy and we’re really excited about Macey’s first step into senior football – she has a big career ahead of her."

General Manager Sam Winch added: "I’m really pleased for the management team to be adding someone of Macey’s potential to the squad. When I sat down with Jake to discuss his targets, Macey was one of the first names down on paper and for him to have now secured her signature is great news.

"With Macey learning the game through the academies of Spurs and Arsenal will demonstrate the quality this girl possesses and I’m looking forward to seeing more of her ability through pre-season.

“A big welcome to Macey and her family, from all of us at Peterborough United!“
