The club can confirm that Jamal Campbell-Ryce has left for the football club for a new opportunity in America.
Peterborough United would like to take this opportunity to thank Jamal Campbell-Ryce for all his excellent work within the Academy as he departs pastures new with the former under 18s and under 21s manager agreeing a new opportunity in the United States.
Campbell-Ryce, who joined Posh in September 2021 as the under 18s Lead Coach, has played a major part in the club’s transition to Category Two Academy Status, stepping up to help manage the under 21s and leaves the club with our best wishes.
Academy Manager Dan Robinson said: “I have only been at the club for a month or so, but during that time, Jamal has worked incredibly hard and diligently in his role and I know from the work that he has done at the club prior to my arrival, that he will be missed by everyone within the Academy. I want to personally thank him for all his efforts on behalf of the club and wish him well with his new opportunity.”
Assistant manager Kieran Scarff, who appointed Campbell-Ryce to the role, added: “In the three years that Jamal has been with us, he has worked with our under 18s and under 21s and achieved some very positive results, performances and helped develop our young players. During his time with us, he has also worked with England and when we were notified of this opportunity he has been presented with in America, we understand his reasons for accepting the position and I have no doubt he will be a success out there.”
Campbell-Ryce said: “I have really enjoyed my time at the football club, there are a lot of good people behind the scenes and within the Academy. I want to thank Kieran for giving me the opportunity and Dan who has made a real impact in his short time as Academy Manager. I would also like to thank the coaches and players, Ryan Semple and Hugh Alban-Jones, who I have worked closely with over the last few years and Tony Cook for his unrivalled support. The opportunity I have been presented with is one I am excited about and I am looking forward to getting started.”
