The Club is pleased to announce a two-year deal has been agreed with BBC Radio Cambridgeshire to provide commentary of Peterborough United’s Sky Bet League One, Emirates FA Cup, Carabao Cup and Bristol Street Motors Trophy fixtures.
During the 2023-2024 season, the place to listen to commentary of Posh games was through the subscription service Posh+ with the feed of that broadcast also being available via PCR FM across the city.
Posh Chief Executive Dawn Gore said: “When we made the decision to bring our commentary in-house, there were a number of reasons behind that, but we recognise that some supporters were disappointed that they couldn’t listen to our games via the BBC.
“When I was appointed into the role of Chief Executive, I had a look at all aspects of the business, and we felt it was the right time to explore options around commentary. I am delighted that we have been able to agree a deal for the next two seasons with the BBC and look forward to strengthening that partnership.
“Everybody at the Club were saddened to learn of the passing of Edwin Overland, who was the real ‘voice’ of the Posh and we will be looking to pay tribute to him at our pre-season fixture with Notts County at the Weston Homes Stadium.”
On signing the agreement Terry Underhill, Executive Editor at BBC Radio Cambridgeshire said: “Having recently joined BBC Radio Cambridgeshire it was clear that both Posh and the radio station missed working together on the commentary and I am delighted to have agreed the rights. I’m sure our listeners will enjoy this listening to Posh next season.”
POSH+ IN 2024-25
Audio commentary of games will still be available on Posh+ and will be provided by BBC Radio Cambridgeshire and we will be updating supporters very shortly on plans for Posh+ in the 2024-2025 season.
