On Thursday evening, the football club welcomed our new apprenticeship recruits who will be progressing from our U16's through to our U18's.
These players will be accelerating their academy journeys as they progress from being a part time academy player to now becoming a full-time apprentice within our Professional Development Phase.
All players were welcomed to the Weston Homes Stadium, along with their families to celebrate their success in being offered a contract for the next two years, as well as providing information surrounding the make-up of their apprenticeship.
The evening consisted of a number of talks from Academy Manager Dan Robinson, Under 18's Lead Coach Jimmy Unwin, The PFA, The League Football Education and first ream player James Dornelly.
Our new U18's apprentices were also joined by the multi-disciplinary academy team that will be working with the players such as; Performance Analysis, Professional Development Phase Staff, Strength and Conditioning, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Safeguarding, Operations and Player Care.
Academy Manager Dan Robinson said: "The event was fantastic and it was great to see all our players joined by their parents and family members. The evening was about giving them an insight into what their apprenticeship will look like when coming into the football club full-time, as well as celebrating the success in their achievement of being offered an apprenticeship full-time.
"We have a strong group of staff members available to support all our Under 18's players and last night was further evidence of this. We are looking forward to next season with this group of players and we are now looking forward to getting started."
All players in attendance also received their professional photos from club Photographer Joe Dent as part of their induction to the club. Player's will join the club in June 2024 as they return for pre-season training.
