A five-year strategy has been confirmed for Posh Women.
Peterborough United Women General Manager Bobby Copping has outlined a five-year strategy for the club, with the main ambition of becoming a sustainable FA Women’s Championship side by the end of the 2027/28 season.
The strategic approach consists of five-year, two-year & one-year targets for the whole Women & Girls set-up, which includes the First Team, Development Squad and Emerging Talent Centre and will be closely monitored to achieve optimal performance. To deliver the long-term vision successfully, exactly who the club will need in terms of key internal and external stakeholders is also detailed.
Every single department within the club, including the First team, Development squad, Emerging Talent Centre, Medical, Well-being and Performance, Recruitment, Infrastructure, Ticketing, Marketing, Admin, Media and Commercial have individual one-year targets. These one-year targets are put in place to drive exponential progress in line with the long-term vision. By the fifth year, the club wants to become a sustainable FA Women’s Championship club, with an average attendance of 5000+ for each matchday.
Speaking on the new strategy, Copping said: “It was clear to me when I became General Manager that the football club's ownership group wanted the Women's set up to become a sustainable Championship club. This clearly aligns with the vision of the men's set-up, which is fantastic. The implementation of our strategy gives us a clear direction and targets for every department to be working towards. We have seen incredible progression over the last two years and now it’s time to kick on again. The strategic approach has taken months to develop and is aligned with our values, culture and vision.
“For me, the strategy was the next step in terms of our professionalism and where we want to take our women and girls set up. We now have a real sense of direction and aligning the whole set-up was really important. I’m extremely lucky to have such fantastic staff who have all bought into the strategy and are doing their individual bit to succeed in their targets.
“This is a really exciting time for everyone involved at Peterborough United Women and we are looking forward to announcing more exciting plans soon.”
