Copson commits her future to Posh Women for the 2023/24 campaign.
Peterborough United Women are delighted to announce that defender Elloise Copson has agreed terms with the club for the 2023/24 FA Women’s National League campaign, putting pen to paper earlier this month at the Weston Homes Stadium.
The defender was promoted to the first team at the beginning of the 2021/22 campaign, making her debut in the FA Women’s National League at the age of 16 and has since gone on to make 40 appearances for the club.
Copson, who only made 10 appearances during the last campaign after an injury-hit season, was delighted to commit her future with the club and was pleased with the faith shown in her by the management staff.
“I’m really delighted to have signed terms for next season,” Copson said. “I’m just looking forward to getting the new season started now. It’s an amazing feeling to see the management and the rest of the staff have faith in you, so I’m just excited to prove next season why they have handed me this opportunity.”
“It’s a massive confidence boost to have been handed this opportunity, especially after the injury I suffered last season and not being able to play. However, with pre-season coming up, I got to prove to Dan [Lawlor] that I’m just as fit as I was before my injury. I have been working hard during the off-season to make sure I’m ready for when we come back.
“When you look at the games we have next month and they’re really good opportunities for us to test ourselves as a team. We were successful last season, but we want to push on now and continue to progress. For me personally, I want to get back into the starting eleven next season and help the team achieve their targets."
