Corry signs terms with Posh Women for next season.
Peterborough United Women are delighted to announce that goalkeeper Neive Corry has become the third player in the last week to have agreed terms with the club ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.
Corry follows in the footsteps of Niamh Connor and Jess Evans in putting pen to paper in the last few weeks after a highly impressive first full season at FA Women’s National League level.
The goalkeeper, who made 25 appearances for Posh during the 2022/23 season and kept nine clean sheets in all competitions, and reflected on her first campaign with the Posh Women's first team.
“It’s a really proud moment for me,” Corry said. “I’m 18 years old, made my debut at 16, and the amount I have overcome, grown and improved over the last season just shows how comfortable I have become in the team. This will be a big boost in my confidence heading into next season, especially pre-season, and hopefully, I can continue to gain as much experience as I have over the last 12 months.
“I played 45 minutes of a pre-season friendly at the beginning of last season and ever since then, I pretty much kept the number one shirt bar a couple of times during the season, but I felt I earnt that shirt well and quite fast. It was quite intimidating at the start of the campaign, being one of the youngest players in the squad, but I feel it has been an upward trajectory and everything has just improved.
“I want to get over 10 clean sheets next season, I felt we could have kept a few more during the last campaign but we can take that into next season. If we have consistency this season, I feel we can challenge for the top of the table as I felt there were odd games when we dropped points that we shouldn’t have."
