It is exactly a month until the season gets underway and manager Darren Ferguson is very calm and level-headed when it comes to finalising his Peterborough United squad for another Sky Bet League One campaign.
While some pieces have been filled with the arrivals of George Nevett, Rio Adebisi, Chris Conn-Clarke, Abraham Odoh and Cian Hayes, there is still a number of positions that the Posh boss knows where he needs to strengthen, but he insists that it is important they get the right players through the door.
"I have been doing the job for a long time now and myself and the chairman are very calm at this moment in time when it comes to recruiting those last few players that we want.
"You have to be patient. There is a long way to go until the season gets underway. We have identified the positions we want to strengthen in and we have also got our list of targets.
"I have been really pleased with what we have managed to do already, those new players have settled in really quickly and a training camp, like the one we are on at the minute in Spain, is really important because relationships and bonds can be strengthened given you are spending all the time together.
"I have been really happy with the younger lads that have come out here with us too, James Dornelly and Harley Mills have had a taste of it already last season, but will be part of the group moving forward, Donay O'Brien-Brady and Ollie Rose have trained well and they might flit between the Under 21 group and our squad.
"Pemi Aderoju looks strong and he will really benefit from another pre-season with us. I think we will assess where we are at with him after pre-season, it may be we look to loan him out at that point to get some game time because there is obviously a lot of interest in taking him on-loan.
"It has been a good week away so far, the lads have worked extremely hard, we have another double session on Thursday before the game on Friday where we will look to get everyone 45 minutes before we travel back Saturday," Ferguson said.
