Posh Women secure signing of Hastings.
Peterborough United Women continue to strengthen their squad for the remainder of the 2022/23 campaign as they complete the signing of former Abergavenny Women FC goalkeeper Charlotte Hastings.
Hastings comes in with experience playing at a high level, previously playing for Welsh Premier League side Cardiff City FC Ladies, and believes that her experience can help drive the team forward to achieve their targets in this final half of the season.
“After speaking with Dan, I think my experience can really help drive the club forward to align with his targets. I’m excited to start training, get my fitness up and get myself ready for the pre-season, and hopefully, help the team progress.
“I've only been a goalkeeper for eight years, having played for Cardiff City Women and my former club Abergavenny. The majority of my experience has come from playing at a higher level in Wales. I also have my goalkeeper C licence, so I have got a bit of experience in coaching at a younger level. Neive [Corry] has done well this season at her age and hopefully, I can use my experience to help her develop even more.”
Manager Dan Lawlor is excited about Hastings’ arrival and thinks she will help establish competition within the squad.
“Charlotte is an experienced goalkeeper who wants to come in and try and establish herself as a FA Women’s National League goalkeeper. She adds competition to the squad and, with Kira leaving, we needed someone to try and push the current goalkeeper we have. She’s a great addition to the squad and we’re excited to have her here.”
