Peterborough United Women are delighted to announce the signing of Kayleigh Hines from Loughborough Lightning as Jake Poole bolsters his midfield options.
The midfielder arrives at the club with experience at the top levels of women’s football having previously played for Reading and Oxford United in the Women’s Super League.
Hines spent time in the academies of Arsenal and Reading before moving abroad to play for Women’s Premier Soccer League side Millburn Magic.
The new addition most recently played for Loughborough Lightning where she captained the side, and her performances saw her scoop the FAWNL Division One Midlands Player of The Season following the 2023/24 campaign.
Hines is excited to get started at Posh: “The ambition from the club both on and off the pitch is really appealing. It’s no surprise where the club is at in terms of league position and the cup journeys. It’s a really exciting time for the club and I can’t wait to get started.”
Assistant Manager Georgia Clarke is thrilled to welcome Hines to the club: “She’s undoubtedly a really good signing for us. When we look at the squad it’s quite a young group; so, it’s important to bring in players with experience and quality like Kayleigh.
"We know the type of player she is from facing her earlier in the season. She’ll be a leader and is a signing that we are really happy to get over the line.”
General Manager Sam Winch added: “We are delighted to welcome Kayleigh to the club after a successful spell with Loughborough. She will bring natural leadership and an aerial presence. The ambition Kayleigh has shown in recent conversations will excite all players and supporters of the club and there is no doubt that this is another statement of intent from us.
“With Kayleigh’s pedigree and upbringing through Arsenal, as well as other professional outfits, she will be able to provide her new teammates with quality and wisdom on the field when called upon.”
Hines will wear the number 41 shirt for the FA Women’s National League campaign and will be in contention for this weekend’s top of the table clash against Leafield Athletic Ladies at the Castle Vale Stadium (3pm).
