Stand-in skipper Sam Hughes might have taken a lot of the plaudits following his performance against Charlton Athletic, but post-match, he was keen to share the praise.
Hughes, who scored his first Posh goal and the opener in the 3-0 victory over in-form Charlton Athletic, won the online Player of the Match poll following the final whistle.
However, in an interview with Posh+ moments after the conclusion of the clash with the Addicks, Hughes was keen to share the plaudits.
"It is obviously pleasing to score my first goal for the club, but it was also pleasing to get the clean sheet and obviously the three points.
"I think defensively we did well against a strong opponent, they may have had a few shots in total, but not many of them were on target or clear-cut opportunities and that is down to everyone, as a team we defended well.
"I thought Oscar (Wallin) was excellent. He came up against a really physical opponent in that second half in Chuks Aneke, he seemed to peel onto Oscar's side more often than not and I thought he was really clever in the way that he defended against him.
"He was aggressive, I don't think he lost anything in the air, it was a really top performance from him and it is great to have another clean sheet as a team under our belts," Hughes said.
