The Peterborough United Foundation are currently recruiting a Health & Wellbeing Officer to join our team of dedicated staff.

Job Title: Health & Wellbeing Officer

Reports to: Community Manager

Type of Position: Full-Time

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Job Purpose

To work to help with delivery of the Community strategy for Peterborough United Foundation to ensure that all aspects and key themes are delivered to a high standard.

Job Overview

Increase and widen participation in health and physical activity initiatives that improves the physical and emotional health and wellbeing and quality of life. Therefore, achieving healthier outcomes for the community.

Responsible for the project management, delivery, evaluation and development of robust and high-quality health and well-being provision in Peterborough and the surrounding areas.

Create strong partnerships with key agencies, stake holders and other community organisations to ensure the provision of our delivery, and that provision aligns with local, regional, and national initiatives.

The job holder will be responsible for delivering the key themes at the venues instructed.

The job holder will be responsible for ensuring the continued delivery of the key themes.

In addition to good management, organisational and administrational skills will be required to work closely and successfully with line manager and our senior management team.

Be accountable for the standard of professionalism.

Be accountable for monitoring and evaluation tasks.

All employees must ensure thorough understanding of the Safeguarding Handbook and all the policies and procedures within it.

JOB SUMMARY

Key Skills and Experience Required: ESSENTIAL

Knowledge of Health and Nutrition

Delivering health awareness programs

Delivering physical fitness sessions

Knowledge of diverse communities and the ability to work with people from all backgrounds

Mental Health Awareness

Level 1 FA coaching certificate or another NGB qualification (or working towards)

FA Coaching License

Understanding and knowledge of the EFL Trust

Experience of building relationships with key partners and knowledge of funding streams.

To hold a current Safeguarding and protecting children certificate and Emergency First Aid Certificate

Experience of working within a strategic environment.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Organisational and administrational skills.

Ability to work within a team effectively and efficiently.

Experience of delivering sports sessions to a wide range of clients, including adults, children aged between 2 and 18 and people with disabilities.

Deal with enquiries in an effective and courteous manner.

Key Skills and Experience Required: DESIRABLE

A degree or equivalent in a Health/Nutrition related subject

Track record of working within the health and wellbeing sector

Level 3 OTAGO Exercise Leader

FA Youth Modules 1, 2 and 3

UEFA ‘C’ coaching certificate.

Other NGB Coaching certificates

Level 3 Supporting the Delivery of PE and School Sport

BFAS First Aid Qualification

Knowledge and understanding of the FA and Football League rules relating to Community Development.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, organise, deliver and evaluate a range of health education and physical fitness sessions.

Monitor all projects as required by funding bodies including the use of views.

Be responsible for the recruitment of participants where required.

Build and develop strong links with schools, community groups, key stakeholders and other relevant organisations.

Monitor and evaluate all elements of Health & Wellbeing projects and Holiday Camps, ensuring data is up to date and accurate.

To act as cover for all programmes at designated times, when required.

To perform other duties as reasonably assigned or under the authority of the senior management team.

To attend health related networks, meetings and health events supporting partnership and sharing good practice

Carry out administration such as; registers, reports, retention and achievement data.

To work closely with colleagues throughout Peterborough United to extend knowledge and skills in order to identify best practice.

To assist in the delivery of high-quality sports sessions to mainly primary school age children from age 4 to 11 .

To ensure that the key themes are delivered to a high standard in accordance with the rules and regulations required within the industry.

To support the Foundation in the development of the Community strategy.

Take part in all available CPD opportunities to gain further knowledge and increase the high standards of delivery.

Major Objectives

Co-ordinate and deliver health projects and holiday clubs, including selling and developing projects further.

To set up community-based health activities for adults, children and young people in Peterborough and empower vulnerable adults and young people to manage their health.

To develop a network of key partners to support the programme with similar strategies to develop specific projects.

To continue to gain knowledge of the running of the department.

To develop internal relations with all departments at the football club to support the whole club philosophy.

Person Specification: ESSENTIAL

Good communication skills.

Hold a full clean driving license and have access to a vehicle to enable service delivery at different venues.

Excellent IT skills including experience of utilising word, excel and outlook email.
