Ricky-Jade Jones celebrates his winning goal against Crawley Town

It is going to be pretty hard to sum up the latest instalment of Posh v Crawley Town, but the most important factor was that three points will be going back to PE2.

You won't have many teams that can say they won the home and away fixture in the Sky Bet League One campaign 4-3, but then Peterborough United always stand out from the crowd.

Crawley played their part in a seven-goal thriller at the Weston Homes Stadium earlier in the campaign, but they will probably feel a little more flattened following tonight's clash at the Broadfield Stadium as a stoppage time penalty from Academy graduate Ricky-Jade Jones secured three vital points for Darren Ferguson's men.

Of course, while Jones will rightly get the plaudits for having the bravery and calmness to stick away a 96th minute penalty kick with regular taker Malik Mothersille off the pitch, it will be winger Abraham Odoh who will be the happiest member of the Posh squad as he netted his first hat-trick for the club - all three of his goals coming in the first half.

There were chances galore, Crawley hit the post and the crossbar in the second half, while Posh had two efforts cleared off the line with substitutes Mahamadou Susoho and Ryan De Havilland the men denied.

And this after Crawley had taken the lead on 11 minutes through ARMANDO who found a hole in the Posh defence, forced the ball past Steer and found the back of the net.

There was a flurry of bookings with Ibrahim and Mullarkey cautioned for the hosts with Archie Collins and Carl Johnston booked for the visitors.

Tayo Edun forced a fine save out of Wollacott as he tried to repeat his free-kick against Cambridge United before Posh levelled through ODOH who coolly found the bottom corner after good work from Kwame Poku.

On 28 minutes, after Jones had forced a mistake out of the hosts, Posh got their noses in front as Edun's corner was headed into the air and the dispatched beautifully on the volley by ODOH for his second of the night.

On 31 minutes, Crawley were back level as a low cross from the left was bundled over the line by KELLY. Posh should have had a spot-kick on 37 minutes as Kyprianou appeared to be felled in the box, but referee Carl Brook waved away those protests.

On 42 minutes, Posh were back in front and it was ODOH again, this time converting from close-range after excellent approach play from Mothersille and Poku.

Steer did well to keep out Doyle with his legs three minutes into the second half before Posh were denied as Archie Collins was kept out by Wollacott.

A poor backpass from Mothersille gave Crawley the chance to make it 3-3 and HEPBURN-MURPHY made no mistake from a tight angle.

Kelly then hit the post and Steer beat away an effort from Doyle as Crawley got on top. Posh lost the services of defender Sam Hughes on the hour mark with Jadel Katongo his replacement.

Doyle clipped the crossbar with a free-kick after Steer handled outside of his area before Ferguson made some changes with Cian Hayes among them and it was an inspired change.

Hayes caused Crawley all sorts of problems down the right, his fine cross eluded everyone before he pulled the ball back for fellow substitute Ryan De Havilland who saw two efforts blocked before Susoho also saw a shot kept out.

Five minutes into stoppage time, Posh were awarded a penalty as Odoh was brought down in the area and JONES coolly converted from the spot before wild scenes in front of the Posh fans.
