The club are delighted to announce the return of the versatile Jadel Katongo on a season-long loan deal from Manchester City.
Peterborough United have strengthened their options ahead of the summer transfer window deadline with the arrival of Manchester City's Jadel Katongo, who completed the formalities of a season-long loan from the Premier League Champions late on Friday evening.
The 19-year-old needs no real introduction to Posh fans following a successful loan stint at the Weston Homes Stadium last term, performing in a number of roles as he helped Darren Ferguson's men win the Bristol Street Motors Trophy at Wembley.
Katongo made a total of 43 appearances for Posh with his versatility being a key aspect of his game with the teenager able to play at right-back, central midfielder and of course centre back. Katongo spent the pre-season with Manchester City's first team squad and Posh boss Darren Ferguson is delighted to welcome him back.
"I don't think Jadel needs no new introduction to Posh fans, he was excellent for us last season and we are all delighted to have him back.
"Jadel played a lot of games for us at right-back last season, but he joined initially as a centre back, that is the position where he has played the majority of his football."
Katongo added: "I am buzzing to be back. I really loved my time at the club last season so when the opportunity came to return, it was something I was really excited about.
"I have had a good time with Manchester City in the summer in terms of the pre-season tour, but now I am focussed on getting game time and I am looking forward to seeing all of the lads again."
