Substitute David Kawa netted the winner as the Posh under 21s beat Sheffield Wednesday.
The Peterborough United under 21s secured a 1-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday at the idverde Training Ground thanks to a second half strike from David Kawa.
Kawa drilled a shot into the bottom corner in the second half to settle a game that Posh had dominated for long periods.
The Owls created the first opportunity of the game through Joey Phuti, who drilled a shot into the side-netting, while at the other end Will Van Lier saw a shot go wide of the target after good work from Donay O'Brien-Brady.
A deep free-kick from Kai Corbett was met by James Dornelly on 26 minutes but his downward header was kept out by the keeper.
O'Brien-Brady fired wide from the edge of the box before the break as Posh pushed for the breakthrough.
The second half was littered with early yellow cards with Janos Bodnar and Van Lier the two Posh players to go into the book.
Jacob Wakeling saw a shot smothered by the keeper before Posh opened the scoring as KAWA fired into the bottom corner.
Fernandez was denied by the Posh goalkeeper before Siguiera fired into the side-netting as the Owls ended the contest postitively..
The Trialist keeper for Posh made two superb stops in injury time while Sigueira somehow headed wide from close-range with almost the last action of the encounter.
