Young Posh defender spends time away on international duty with Albania.
There have been several players within the Academy that have tasted international football during their time with the club and at the end of last month, defender Milan Kovaci was named in the Albanian National Under 17 squad for a development tournament and it proved to be a successful period away for the 16-year-old.
Kovaci captained his country and found the back of the net in one of the fixtures and Academy Manager Dan Robinson believes the experience will be full of positives for the teenager.
“First and foremost, it is a credit to Milan that he has put himself into a position where he is being called up by his country. Not only was he called up, he was named captain of the side and also found the back of the net, so it was a thoroughly positive experience for him.
“It is a good example of the hard work that goes on within our Academy in terms of the pathway and as far as learnings from the experience go, there are so many things to take away for Milan and I am sure he will look back on his time at the tournament with a great sense of pride.
“Milan is a central defender; he is aggressive and his obvious strengths are in his one v one defending. He has already signed a scholarship for next season, and we are excited to see how far he can progress.
Kovaci joined Posh in 2019 from a grassroots football club called Illecto, which is based in London.
