Hector Kyprianou made his Cyprus debut in the defeat to Norway on Thursday evening.
Peterborough United midfielder Hector Kyprianou made his debut for Cyprus against Norway on Thursday evening in the European Championship qualifiers, completing the full 90 minutes as part of a three-man defence for the Cypriots.
It was the first time that Kyprianou had represented the senior side and he had the unenviable task of trying to keep Manchester City front man Erling Haaland quiet. Norway ended up winning the game 4-0 but Kyprianou played well.
Meanwhile, Ronnie Edwards captained the England elite men’s squad (under 20s) in a 2-0 defeat to Romania. Edwards played the full 90 minutes, while on-loan defender Jadel Katongo played over an hour. Both could feature for England against Portugal at stadium: mk on Tuesday evening (7pm).
