Manager Darren Ferguson has named his captain for the 2024-2025 campaign.
Peterborough United manager Darren Ferguson has named midfielder Hector Kyprianou as his captain for the new campaign with fellow midfield man Archie Collins confirmed as the vice-captain.
Kyprianou, who joined Posh from Leyton Orient, has shared captaincy duties during pre-season with a number of players and will wear the armband on Saturday against Huddersfield Town if he wins his race for fitness. He has been rated as doubtful by Ferguson to be involved.
Ferguson explained the reasoning behind his choice: "Hector will be the captain. It was between two or three, Joel was in the mix. I do like a captain to be an outfield player, that is just the way I think.
"Hector is ready for it, I have spoken to him at length about it, he is excited and really pleased. Archie will be the vice-captain and those two are part of the leadership group alongside Joel and Jed."
